Default Please help with new WNDR4000 Netgear N750 Router

Hi all,

I just got a WNDR4000 (N750 Wireless Dual Band Router) hoping that it will improve streaming movies from my network hard drive (WD mybooklive) to my LG LCD TV.

I previously had a linksys WRT54G which stream video files from my network hard drive to my TV. Sometimes, it lagged or gave error which requires me to reload.

Anyhow, setup with new WNDR4000 went just fine. I was able to see my network hard drive from my PC. Setup for my LG LD550 network went just fine as well. I was able to view netflix and see my network hard drive.

However, here is the problem. I see my hard drive but it does not display any folders nor files for video files. I can't seem to figure it out.

Can anyone help me here?

I don’t know what OS you have, but sometimes a change in LAN subnet can trigger the need to re-run the network file and printer sharing wizards and/or change computer firewall settings.

I mean from my LG LCD, I can't see any of my video files which I had no problems with linksys wifi router.

I see my network hard drive and files just fine from my PC.

My trouble is not able to view my video files from LG LCD. Please help.

I understand, unlikely to be a firewall issue then.

Are both the NAS and TV using a wired connection? If not could this be arranged even temporarily?

I’m at work and unable to check the router details, but if one or both of the TV/NAS are wireless then check for any wireless isolation options in the router wireless settings.

Do you know the list of network parameters that can be set in the LG LCD, what they are currently set to and how they were set, by DHCP or manually?

Is there any configuration option in the NAS to tell it what network devices it can or cannot talk to? Is the NAS a DLNA server?

It works now. Thanks for your support. Stupid me. Just needed to recycle the power for my network hard drive. I guess the IP or whatever was assigned differently than with the previous router.

It works and works great. No lagging. Quick load. Fast. So far, with couple of hours with it, it's been fantastic.

OK, silly me, I didn’t think about ‘switch it off and on again’.
