Default No Wifi

Hello,

First time posting. My router has completely stopped broadcasting a wireless signal. I called and of course was told they wouldn't help me and to come here or pay some exorbitant price for an answer. So I am here to see if anyone else has had this issue. I am not sure what info you guys would need exactly but it is a WNDR3700 purchased about seven months ago. It just kind of happened one night, I was using the computer and the signal dropped and has never come back. Any help on what I can do would be very much appreciated.

If there is large amount of wireless around you then reset the router and try it again,

Either bad power supply or band internal wireless

There isn't a large amount of wireless at all. I have tried resetting the device, numerous times. Nothing happens. When I call they say it isn't the hardware because my computer can send and receive packets when directly connected to it, yet I still cannot access the internet even that way. Any other suggestions?

Gave you the suggestion on second paragraph

Replace the power supply and see since there is not other wifi around you. Make sure there is no other emitting devices next to the router

Alright, I'll try that this afternoon and let you know what happens. Another question, I was told to have email correspondence with a technical employee on this website but I don't know where/how to get that started. Any idea?

If this is the WNDR3700v2, I just got off the phone from a follow up call after they replaced my WNDR 3700v2. I was informed by a supervisor at Netgear Support that there are many reports of hardware issues with this model. I was advised to send an email to customer.service@netgear.com.

Looking through threads on the forums here, and elsewhere on the Internet, it seems that these routers are failing after being used for a set amount of time, for an alarming amount of people. This alone says hardware failure. I believe this router has a hardware defect.

If you are having issues with signal drops, please email the address above with the time you have used the router and the issue/symptoms you are seeing.

Tried the power supply switch with no luck.

y0himba, how would I be able to tell which version my router is? I don't know if I would consider it signal drops since it just stopped and has yet to return. I will shoot an email to the address you suggested, I really appreciate the help. I've had the router for about seven months, purchased from Staples, along with a few other networking pieces (all Netgear).
