I think its all fixed. I did a 30-30-30 reset and now the router is behaving normal again.

Sorry to bump a year old thread, but I'm having the exact same issue... however a hard reset did not fix it,
I can confirm that this is a router software issue because tomato doesn't have the same issues... Why is my wireless activity acting like a dumb hub than a semi-smart switch? |

there is nothing you can do with the way firmware behaves
