Default Modem unable to connect to ISP

I have one of these new bad boys (DGND3700)
Running the latest firmware from netgear site, but it will not connect to my ISP the modem just says Training, and when I go to run the connection wizzard, it does not even recognise that I have a adsl line plugged in.

I logged it with netgear who said it was a faulty unit, and to replace.
Which I did and my new unit does the EXACT same thing.

In the new box I noticed a note talking about certain ISP's not being recognised and so I tried the workaround provided by Netgear.
This did not work

I have added in all the ISP info manually, with my username and password, and all the settings required.
I know the line works as I currently on my old DM111P modem now.

Anyone know what I can do about this?
Waste of a premium modem thats just sitting there for ages.

Join the club! Sounds like this is one of the problems lots of people are having with lots of these units. I'm not going to straight out tell you to replace it with a different modem router, but that's what I did and I'm glad I did rather than waste my time trying to make this one work.
There may be a way to make this work, chances are this is the kind of thing Netgear can fix with firmware, but obviously you'd have to wait until they get around to it.

QUOTE]What ISP are you with? I'm with be* who are one of the ISP's mentioned on the note I got when received new model last week.

So had to configure the settings manually rather than use the wizard but it did work.

Im using SurfAnytime...
Really good ISP, but alas I have a really expensive paperweight at the moment and its really pissing me off!

I bought this unit over a month ago, only to find I cannot even use it.
What kind of a modem is ISP specific, and if thats the case netgear should publish that on the box, or online before your purchase.

I was hoping for a Firmware fix already!
