i can really use some help on this one guys.
im having some really bad ping issues. when im using my internet connection my ping will jump up in the 1000ms range, and hang there for about 10 min or until i restart my router. it happens about every 90-120 min. I have a rather extensive home network, using all netgear products. its layed out like this modem>router>main pc, 8 hub switch, 4 hub switch. off the 8 hub i have a netgear stora, a pc, then a netgear powerline adapter to another pc, off the 5hub switch i have my PS3, a home entertainment center, and another router i use as a range extender. here are some things ive done to trouble shoot. Tried 3 different routers, same problem with all 3 WNDR3800 WNDR4000 WNR3500 unplugged everything from the router except 1 pc at a time. same problem replaced the modem. same thing replaced the cat5 wires between the modem and router/routers. same thing put a giant fan on my router/switch(overheat?). same thing turned UpNp off/on pinged router/other devices during the ping storm. everything fine. hooked modem directly to my PC. worked fine. there for im sure it has to be something on my network causing the problem but i cant find the source. ive tried each device on there own and it still does it. can someone please help me out here its starting to drive me crazy. |

Your network "design" shows a PC connected between the router and the switch, as well as a network extenders and a powerline network - is this correct?
I suggest you DRAW a picture, host it somehwere (flickr perhaps) and post a link to it
