Default Wn3000rp lan port

Hi,

I have purchased today the WN3000RP NETGEAR EXTENDER for two reasons. Firstly to use my iPad in all rooms and to connect my blu ray player (can only be hard wired) to the internet. Got the extender up and running and now I use my iPad in any room connecting to either my router or router_ext. I then tried to use the LAN port to connect my blu ray player which doesn't have an wireless option. However I cannot to get it to connect to the internet. The light on the extender turns green and it connects to the extender. The blu ray gives itself an IP address but will not connect to the internet. If I unplug the cat5 cable from the WN3000RP and plug the blu ray directly into the router the blu ray can connect to the internet.

So I have the WN3000RP working like a dream as a wireless extender but cannot for the life of me figure out why the lan port connection to the blu ray wont work. I must be missing something really obvious?

Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thanks for the response, I tried fixing the IP on the blu ray player but still no joy. Using the same fixed IP settings if I run the same cat5 cable directly to the router I get the internet on the blu ray. If I swap the cat5 from the router to the WN3000RP the connection status is OK, but Internet status is failed.

Looks like these ethernet ports on the netgear extenders do not work for all devices.

Thanks,
