Default WNDR3800 - how change password ?

hi guys , sorry to drop another question , but am getting lost ... i still have user as admin and password as password ... i think this is my router security ( ? ) ... how do i change the password ? just can't seem to find this in the NGear User Manual ... tia

Access your router and find the router password tab. Now you can change it.

oooooooops .... i overlooked this coz my Ngear Genie does not have the Basic and Advanced options ( as shown in the illustration ) ... i see now that i have to go to the web url for this ... many thanks....

Genie nice utility but all the setting should be looks at when physically login to the router

understood ...and it doesn't help that the manual is in a pdf of 122 pages ,that's a lot of scrolling and screen jumps to find the right info ... in the gud old days manuals were printed and in the retail box

Is there a way to change the user name from admin to something else? This would make the router more secure. My previous router (Zone Alarm Wireless Router) that died allowed me to do this.

No you can not change the user name, only the password.

Not on consumer router from Netgear.

Only prosafe /prosecute router will allow multiple user for router access
