Lightbulb Re: DGND3700 re-connect DSL?

hello everyone,
same problem, firmware V1.0.0.17_1.0.17, the router doesn't automatically reconnect.
Purchased 1 month ago, initially I was quite disappointed for the malfunction.
I solved throwing away the DSL filter (sold within the router pack) connecting directly to the telephone wall plug and disabling the "SIP ALG" option.
I'm excited, no "red led" issue, no power-cycle for three days.

Bye

I have contacted the netgear support and they have send me the v19_test2 firmware. I have made the upgrade and since one day i have no more problems.

I thought that was a known. As long as you don't have other devices on the line removing the filter should be no big deal but if you start hearing noises on other telephones you are going to need filters. Just make sure if your isp has packages of filters to give out before you go to a place like amazon.com to buy them.

Well I've long since given up wasting any more of my time on this but am still waiting for a refund.

My refund got approved, then customer services send me an email asking me to confirm my shipping address. I replied instantly via my iPhone email to confirm this.

Two weeks later they send me the same email and then it dawns on me that its being sent from their do_not_reply email address.

Apparently they updated my case online & were expecting to reply via this rather than email but they didn't exactly make it obvious.

"I am contacting you regarding your case #xxxxxxxxx

I have been informed that our level 3 engineers have approved a product refund request due to the issues you have been experiencing with your DGND3700.

Would you please provide me your full shipping address so that I may start the process?"

Sigh.....

Hi, I have the same issue with my 3700 as the OP.
I've got firmware v17
I've registered the issue with netgear - does it take long for a response? I'm keen on trying v19 or v20 (anything to keep the members of my household with adsl and happy)
thanks

I logged a new case with Netgear 2 weeks ago asking what's happened with my refund and am still waiting for a response......even after chasing up twice.

Nearly 11 months now without a working router.....

Honestly I cannot ever remember dealing with such a shoddy company as this. Their customer service is just a complete joke.

Has anyone managed to get Any further with Netgear on this V1 disconnection issue? Anyone on v2 who can verify if the same issue exists or not?

I'm still chasing for the refund they promised me in April. Even a v2 replacement would be better than nothing but Netgear still haven't given me a concrete response.

I got a few apologies promising that someone would get back to me but no real actual help to remedy this mess....

This thread has been silent for awhile, but I thought I'd address that last post with my information:

I have a DGND3700v2 with firmware V1.1.00.12_1.00.12NA
I am connecting to Verizon Broadband DSL, PPPoE, and my connection mode is set to "Always On". With my settings, the router/modem connects just fine and gives me internet access.

However, my internet connection occasionally drops completely. I can access devices on my local network fine but access to the world is out. The top two lights on my router turn off. When I log in to the router's GUI and look at the log, I see entries like the ones below:

[Internet disconnected] Tuesday, March 05,2013 20:59:49
[DSL: Down] Tuesday, March 05,2013 20:59:45

If I reset the router, a connection is established every time. But it always requires a reset -- the router does not attempt to re-establish a connection, even if I go to connection status and click on the Disconnect and Reconnect buttons.

I'm hoping someone will tell me that there's a firmware update that fixes this, or some setting I can make that will let the router automatically keep attempting to establish the connection if it drops for one reason or another.
