Default Multicast Passthrough?

Hi all,

I have Netgear 614 and I just recently switched from regular Cable to Digital Cable and Internet. Now when I plug in my router it doesnt like to get along well with the Digital Cable, so the picture is very blocky and seems to not come in clear. I called the Help Desk of my cable company and they said that I have to enable Multicast Passthrough or Multicast Filter. They only seem to know about LinkSys routers though, not Netgear.

My problem is I cannot find any sort of thing like this on the Netgear router. I have searched and searched with no answers. Can anyone tell me how to enable Multicast Passthrough or Filters?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you have simply line issue. if you have too much splitter in your house each will loose 3db and broadband Cable service requires pretty much straight out of pole or two way split there. usually TV can handle few splitter. sounds like you have basic home cable wiring issue..

but then I coulde wrong. choppy tv easy to fix my reloate splitter or get high gain amplifier to boot.

I guess this is a common problem with from what the Cable company says.

If it helps any, I have a fiber connection. So, the cable that runs into the house is a network cable and not your standard round black cable. The fiber runs into a 10/100 hub/splitter , from there a line goes to the digital cable box and then into my tv. ANother lines runs out of the 10/100 hub to my router then to my pc. I can unplug the router and plug the internet connection straight into my PC and get a perfectly clear signal to the TV. So this leads me to belive that I have to enable something on the router..

Still looking into this. Its driving me nuts. I find lots of info on VPN Passthrough, but nothing on Multicast Passthrough. I assume this is not the same thing. Its so easy on a LinkSys router from everything I have read, just a matter of clicking a check box to enable or disable Multicast. I like my Netgear!!! I dont want to switch!

I am beginning to think that the Netgear is not capable of doing this?
