I don't use the default IP Address range.
This has never been raised with myself. |

Have used this firmware for 5 days now and have noticed that it is very stable and is working fine for me.
The 5Ghz Wi-Fi issue I had is now is able to go beyond 54Mbp with various adaptors on different laptops around the house. One thing that I did noticed today when I unplugged the power, by accident, to tidy up the cables behind the main server was that when it came back online, my Wi Fi (both 2.4 & 5 Ghz) didn't come on. So I rebooted it and all works fine. It also syncs with my ISP at about 150kbps faster than it did before. A suggestion to those trying new firmware on the 3700 is to make sure you hard reset (Power off, hold Reset button down and power ON while holding Reset down for about 10 or so seconds) the unit to factory default "TWICE" after changing the firmware before loading your configuration. This version firmware seems to work for me really well - unlike the 0.17, which didn't. The Hard Reset seems to be a good practice for nearly all brands of modem/routers.... Hope that helps. |

me I had latency issues updating devices. I'm just happy my older netgear didn't sell as fast as I hoped on amazon .Remember in most cases flashing a device is a good thing for any device... I'll keep you appraised how it goes .

After the experience on the Test3 firmware, where my router kept locking me out of the GUI after a few days, I'm glad to say that 5 days and 19 hours, I can still access the GUI.
![]() I have just plugged in the USB stick and will now see what happens with that. In the mean time I have had a few issues with pages not changing properly. There have bee a few issues reported on Sky's broadband in the past few days and I suspect it is related to that, rather than the router. My connection has stayed stable and the WiFi has been fine. |

My router lost sync after 5 days and as before it failed to reconnect.
Yet again its going back in the cupboard to gather more dust.... Have asked Netgear for the 2nd time about a replacement - will see what they say. Surely 7 months of going nowhere with this is enough. And just to confirm - my ISP router reconnects itself when I lose sync - which is all I am asking. |

Is there any news or a TEST5 version of the firmware at this stage?

I would suggest that you have a strong case to be able to return the router and state clearly that it is 'not fit for purpose' since the connection issue was known to Netgear prior to you purchasing it. Under UK Law you should still be well within your rights to expect a full refund. If the supplier argues, please do check your facts with the CAB or a suitable solicitor. Trading Standards may be a good place to contact too. lol - not yet. |

Just got this reply:
"Please be informed that we have some cases having this kind of issue on the DGND3700 and we are currently looking for resolution for the issue. Replacing the unit will not providing us the resolution for your case. I would suggest keeping us update on your issue. Before I escalate this again to our engineering team, please perform a full factory reset on the DGND3700 and reconfigure it." I am looking forward for the resolution of your case. Please feel free to contact us again if you will require further assistance. Thanks again for choosing NETGEAR. Have a great day!" |

I would have thought 5 days would have been good though not as good as adl's 8. Just keep them updated and try to be "pleasant"
and ask questions when neccesary . Still can't be sure the problems solved in v2 till it comes out or Mr. Spooner lets it out, just keep an eye on your warrenty.

Update:
I appear to be lucky with the hardware in my case. the 19test4 firmware seems to have solved my 5Ghz Wifi issue that use to only connect at 54Mbps with the V.17 firmware. It appears to be fine with all the connected devices that have capable adapters. Both 2.4 and 5 Ghz connections are stable. (WD TV Hub, T61Laptop, MacBookPro13, Asus Laptop, 2x PS3, Apple TV and 2xDesktops W7 - plus visiting PC & Mac Laptops). Everyone connects fine and gets good coverage. However, in the venings (mostly likely because of heavy traffic use in the area) the modem DSL resyncs to a slower speed. It remains that way in the early hours of the morning without resyncing back to a higher speed when it is available. The only way to get back to a better speed is to reboot the modem via GUI. or turning it off then on again in the morning which is not too much of an issue. Are DSL modem syncs supposed to be dynamic? Or should they stay synched and locked at one speed once they initially sync to the ISP? Haven't checked with my ISP here in New Zealand yet (Vodafone NZ) if they slow down speeds to allow for more traffic use, but should the modem resync back to normal/better speeds automatically when it is available? Just had to ask if it is an ISP issue or a hardware issue. I don't have a problem surfing comfortably though even when it is synced lower in the evenings. My LAN remains fine for streaming music and movies at all times, which is fine. If anyone can answer if my resyncing at lower speeds is a hardware issue or an ISP issue, that would be great! Thanks in advance... |
