That's a bummer... Some credit card purchase or for an extra cost you could have bought an extended warranty... Anyhow.. If I were you, grab that old 802.11g router you had retired and use it for a few months and then grab one of those 802.11ac routers that most of the vendors are working on. These dual stream routers is becoming EOL very soon... meaning no new firmwares.

My old router went to my mom for her network, so that option is gone.

I really liked this router, did way more then I ever needed it to..............and I hate to spend $100 on a new one.

And on a positive note............it seems to be working again right now, hopefully it lasts.

In the meantime, just use the ports on the wireless gateway as most cable modems as well as vdsl/adsl isp's now have wireless as well as 4 ports. You only pay a few dollars more for them and they also make an excellent backup gateway for diagnostics.

DirecTV, MagicJack, and my desktop computer are all hard wired to the modem.

It came back to life last night, hopefully it lasts.

There was a quick warning about an IP conflict this morning, but it went away and things are working.

Time will tell if I spend another $100 on a new one, or if this one is going to keep going.
