Can you tell us how the diskstation advertises media? CIFS, NFS, or ReadyDLNA?

Make sure you enable NFS on the Diskstation and give the 550 (or all devices on your lan) access to the NFS shares.

Hi Aktarus,
I have an older Synology, a CS-406, and it runs older firmware but it should work the same. When setting up the privileges for the shares that I would like the Neo to access, I go into "Local Users" and set the user "Guest" to have read-only access. When I look in the "Connection Log" on the CS-406, I can see that the Neo is indeed connecting as the "Guest" client. |

I posted the above, but neglected to mention that I am using SMB and not NFS. The procedure for NFS may be different.
I was going to edit my above post, but it won't be there until a moderator sets it free. |
