ADSL router to a fast internet switch

I am trying to connect my sky ADSL router to a fast internet switch.



how do I connect in a fast ethernet switch to my SKY ADSL router? I have a netgear FS605 switch - this does not work when connected directly to the ADSL router but does work if I put my EN2005 netgear hub between the router and the switch.

I would suspect some sort of incompatibility between the switch & the router - it should work fine just plugged in.
