The FVS 336gv2 device connects to an ISP provided cisco epc 3925 cable modem. The address details provided by the ISP have been entered manually into the router and the router is giving a green light on WAN Port 1. the problem is that i am unable to connect to the internet from behind the router, i have tried using the test button to connect to netgear.com but get nothing. When i plug my laptop directly into ISP cable modem and use the same address settings i dont have any problems connecting to the internet.
Can you please provide any assistance!! |

this is most just a modem. it is gateway router. consult your ISP on either setup as bridge mode or correct setup for your needs

Sorry my frustration with this issue is just getting the better of me.
Basically my ISP are saying that because i can connect my laptop directly into the bridged modem and the paltop the WAN IP adress that the device if functioning properly. This would seem plausible given that when the router is plugged into the ISP modem the WAN link on the router is turning green. So why can anything behind then router connect out to the internet? If i can give you anymore information that can help with this issue please ask. Thank for your help |

if laptop work directly then make sure you turn off the modem for 30min before you plug your router back or use PC's mac address instead in the FVS's WAN setting
