Default GS105, When connected to broadband router, All Lights are Blinking

I have an ASUS broadband router connected to my cable modem via the WAN port. When connecting one of the other ports on this router to my new GS105, all lights on the GS105 begin to blink with the activity on the port connected to the broadband router. Is this normal, or is something botched somewhere?

Is there a specific port on the GS105 that is designed to be used for WAN? The online manual doesn't mention this.

all the light should NOT blink where ethernet cable is not used.

if any lan ports blinking with no cables are used means there is some issues on unit. I would return the unit

Sorry I should have been more clear. Only ports that are connected are blinking, and are not blinking constantly, as if in an endless loop. They are all blinking in unison with the activity of the WAN port.

router send out traffic to communicate with devices so unless you have an issues you should not worried about it .

they all blinks differently. if you have major internet activity on pc vs one is idling or using traffic between lan to lan devices it will all behave different.
