Angry firmware issues 7550

i have a netgear 7550 b90-755044-15 provided to me by my isp(frontier). the problems i am haveing is sometimes it will kick off wireless devices. my cell phone will say it is connected wifi with great signal but have no internet access. if i turn the wifi on my phone off then back on i works fine for a while then does it again. my printer is also connected wifi and when that loses connection i have to power it down and turn it back on again to get connection. also, sometimes i get a poor conection so i power down my modem to reboot and get a new connection to my isp it sometimes has issues rebooting properly. what i mean by that is the modem will power up the dsl light will be green the internet light goes red and when i try to go into the modem from my wired computer i get no internet message. also on my computer it shows me connected to an unidentified network. usually this modem is connection 5. in order to get the modem to work corectly again i must press in the reset button and then go back through the initial setup. is this the crappy frontier firmware and if so does netgear have the original firmware for this modem. i cannot find it on this site in fact i dont even see my model number anywhere on there site.

I'm certain that this is ISP branded firmware units. Very unlikely you will find same thread to your model at this moment. ISP provided unit with ISP branded firmware is commonly supported by the ISP support.

This isnt a "generic" part of the 3700, not sure what item rebrand it is but it's not the 3700.

As said tho, If it's a firmware issue then no users on the NG site will be able to help since it will be a ISP Specific firmware.

My ISP uses a NetGear Cable modem, and the spec on it is unlike anything on NG's site ;(.

thank you both. yes this was netgears remake of the westell 7500. the isp cannot help me all they want to do is send me a new modem this is the second one with the same problem. i think my only other option at this point is to go out and buy a new modem that doesnt have any isp firmware. i was just hopeing maybe someone knew if netgear had their own firmware for this device but it looks like they dont even want to bother with it.

You're not alone--Frontier provided me with the same unit and it does the same thing. Oh well; at least it does a good-enough as a DSL modem.

4) Open a browser window and navigate to http://192.168.254.254 (the modem's IP address)
5) Login as administrator (username/password is admin/admin by default)
6) Click on Advanced
7) Click Yes at the warning screen
8) Click Firmware Upgrade
9) Click Upgrade Now
10) Click Browse

I neglected to mention in my previous post that the firmware update to VER 06.05.02 FIXED the problem of the 7550 modem/router dropping the wireless connection. I've been running it for a few days now and it no longer drops (it was dropping regularly before the update).

I have a Westell 7550 ADSL2+ Router (now owned by NetGear) and the model number is B90-755025-15 and the current version of the firmware is 06.04.20.

Is the firmware you reference above (B90-755044App=sw2.BBA.58.17.rel.upg) the correct version for my model number as well? I have the device set to auto update but not sure if that is working.
Thank you in advance.
