I recently bought my PTV2000, which is working fine.
However, when it's turned on, there's an annoying, high-frequency noise coming from the ptv2000 box itself. It can be somewhat compared to the noise that those old analog dialup modems used to make, except it's less loud and higher frequency. The noise is not very loud (in fact, when I first heard it, it took me a while to find out it actually came from the ptv2000). But still too annnoying to keep the ptv2000 always on. Is it supposed to make this noise, or is something wrong with my device? |

It is not normal when a device makes a high frequency noise. There may be a lurking hardware problem. However, is the PTV near a speaker or any other Wi-Fi device such as a router? Try relocating the device.

It is about 3 metres distance from a router, so I guess that can't be the problem. Relocating the device doesn't help. I guess I'll take my chances. I'll just switch in on when I'm actually using it.
