Serial Number on WNDR3700v2 Refurb

My refurbished WNDR does not have a regular serial number but does list a MAC number. What, exactly, is the difference? I hope this MAC number is not an indication that the unit if for a MAC computer.

MAC = Media Access Control.

Roughly speaking, It's the name that the router will use when sending or receiving data.

Netgear routers typically start with 00:24:B2 and then the last 3 are what point to your hardware.

The unit will work with virtually any device that supports modern networking. MAC, PC, Phones, Game Consoles, and lots of other stuff ..

The 3700 refurbs do not come with a serial number, and (I may be wrong) I think they come with a shorter warranty.

you will NOT get one year warranty.. very limited to like 90days warranty etc.

I would return and buy new retail models

Thank you, jlewter. The warranty on the refurb unit is 30 days for hardware and technical support.
