SHA-1: 19131906336DB9CF5167169B98EA946A668B3C83

Bug Fixes, New Features and Enhancements:
  • Fixed the issue that when android devices in sleep mode might cause router connection issue.
  • Fixed the issue that router don't support Up to 300Mbps wireless mode for Korea region.
  • Fixed the issue that router can't support 3TB USB disk well in DLNA function and ReadySHARE FTP protocol.

Known Issues:
  • Time Machine function limitation: Only support “GUID Partition Table” and “Master Boot Record” in partition table format. We don’t support “Apple Partition Map” this format.

Workaround: When you choose the partition scheme of your USB disk, please don’t select “Apple Partition Map” this format.

    • For Non-journal system, support Time Machine backup size up to 1 TB.
    • For Journal system+ MBR partition table, support Time Machine backup size up to 800 GB.
    • For Journal system+ GUID partition table, support Time Machine backup size up to 500 GB.
    • We suggest customer to use the new USB disk to do time machine backup. If customer uses the USB disk which already include the old Time Machine backup file,
    • WNDR3800 might need spend some time to scan/valid the old backup file is ok to be used or not.

  • Traffic meter - Traffic volume control is not accurate due to sampling rate. It may exceed the limit.

Workaround: Set a proper number in “Mbytes before the monthly limit is reached” in the traffic control.

On a Personal Note:
Be sure to read the full HTML release notes contained in the ZIP archive. You may also want to read the 'How To Check and Change Your Router's Firmware' guide found in my signature or by clicking here. While the guide was written for the WNDR3700, the update instructions will provide additional guidance. Additionally, it might be beneficial to safely unplug any USB attached devices before updating the firmware. Should it become necessary to revert the WNDR3800 back to a previous firmware version, you can click here to see all available WNDR3800 firmware.

Hi there, since I did this update, my wireless freezes. My devices can connect to the router but they don't receive any data. I have restarted the router to get it going again.

Can you please look into this.

Thanks

After I installed this update, my wireless networks went down.

Is there any way to roll back this firmware update or at least to set the router to defaults?

Unhappy Re: WNDR3800 Firmware Update v1.0.0.44

It seems that this version has fixed my other problems but it broke my DLNA + network drive capabilities eventhough the description says "Fixed the issue that router can't support 3TB USB disk well in DLNA function and ReadySHARE FTP protocol."

I have a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Drive - 3TB which use to work fine before on .38 but now is broken. Drive works fine when connected directly to a computer but when attached to the router, and accessed via \\readyshare, it spins and spins until the router either restarts. Can this be fixed back to the way it was in the next version.

To be fair, after my experiences with the DGND3700, I wouldn't recommend either routers for hosting a drive on a permanent basis.

I have a pair of Netgear ReadyNAS unit and having set them up, they are far better at supporting both DLNA and FTP services.

I appreciate the cost differences. I found that each time a router reboots, it has to rescan the hard drive in order to rebuild the DLNA database. With large drives this process can literally take hours. With a proper ReadyNAS a reboot doesn't take anything near as long.

You can also set up specific accounts for accessing the NAS via FTP. This is truly essential if you wish to provide access for a friend or relative as you can decide just how much access to provide (i.e. read only, exclude some folders).

The newest units can house drives up to 4TB too, although these are more than double the cost of the 3TB drives.

Just downloaded this firmware update, and now I cannot see the 5g network as an option on various devices. The ones that had already been connected still show 5g as an option and connect. New devices do not show 5g as an option, just 2.4. Should I do a rollback? Or did I set it up incorrectly. Thanks, Laura

Hello Laura and welcome to the forum.

Without knowing anything about the devices which are not seeing the router's 5GHz signal it would be foolish to say if all was well or not.

Not every WiFi device has access to the 5GHz channels. To determine if they should or not you should check their technical specifications and see if the WiFi adaptor supports WiFi a.

If they do, then try changing the channel to 36 or 44. Both these channels should be found by most 5GHz WiFi adaptors.
