Default Wireless Stability Issues

Is anybody else having stability issues? I woke up this morning, and my iPhone 5 was working just fine. When I tried to use any of my 3 other computers wirelessly, however, none of them would connect. I had to reboot the router to get them to connect.

Hopefully this isn't foreshadowing of unstable Netgear firmware.

If any pc are in sleep mode, reboot the PC and if that works over reboot the router since iphone is working fine

I had this happen once, all my 2.4Ghz wireless devices (iPhone and Android) had no connection when I woke up. I was on firmware V1.0.1.22_1.0.15.

I rebooted the router and they connected fine.

Later, while diagnosing other issues I went back to the original firmware, then the next day upgrade back to the latest V1.0.1.22_1.0.15.

Not sure if that helps but I haven't had any wireless issues since then. I haven't used 5Ghz yet.

Try turning off QOS upstream and downtream. It fixed it for me.

I've actually already had both turned off. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I'll second stability issues. Both wired and wireless. Mostly on 2.4 GHz side with an iPhone 4. Have to power off router in order for it to connect. Even then, connection is slow.

Have tried turning off QoS and WMM, changes channels from Auto to 11 then 6, went to 20MHz, changed encryption level, switched speed to 54mb, and no improvement. Have to run 5Ghz in WMM mode or will not achieve the speed of my internet coming into my house (20mb vs. 30mb). Range is suspect as well. All confirmed using speedtest on an iPhone 5

Heard rumblings of a major firmware upgrade for mid October that may address some of these issues. For now, I am going back to Costco and buying the AC1450. For what I need today, it works well. Provides great coverage and, most importantly, stability. Plus I won't hear my 11 year old complain about lagging on the Xbox. R7000 has promise, it's time may not be now.

More difficulty with the R7000.

Left house for 3 hours. Upon return, tried connecting to 5GHz network with iPhone 5, 5s and Xbox. None were able to connect to router. Was able to connect iPhone 5 to 2.4 GHz network but was unable to connect to the Internet.

Will try firmware update shortly and report findings.

I had the same problem with the 5ghz wireless, 2.4ghz has been solid. Here is how I solved the 5ghz issue.

1) Access R7000 GUI
2)Advance Tab
3)Advanced Setup
4)Wireless settings
5) Uncheck "Enable Wireless router radio" (5ghz)
6) wait 10mins
7) reaccess router and ENABLE wireless radio.
8)

Yeah I suppose I could have manually turned OFF BOTH wireless radio by pushing the wireless LED/button. That may work haven't tried that, but when you do it in the routers config it seems to reset the wireless.
