Default WGT624 v3 connection problems

I have been asked to set up a friends router last night and I couldn't get it to connect. It will connect, but keeps dropping. He has quite a few other wireless networks registering and they keep dropping off as well.

I think it might be interference, but I don't know hopw to disable the other wireless networks that are popping up. Any suggestions would be grately appreciated

The operating system is Windows XP (Home I think)

I have changed the SSID on the router, so it registers with another name. i have not been back, but will be this weekend at some point.

Thanks for the help
